The Bahá’í Faith

Religion as Successive Chapters of One Faith

Throughout history, Divine Educators, also known as Manifestations of God, have been sent by God to humanity and their teachings have provided the foundation for the progression of civilization. These divine educators include Abraham, Krishna, Zoroaster, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Muḥammad, The Bab and Bahá’u’lláh.

Bahá’u’lláh, the latest of these Messengers, explains that all religions have the same origin and are essentially successive chapters of one religion from God. Bahá’ís believe that humanity's crucial need is to find a unifying vision for the future of society, and this can be achieved through the study and contemplation of the writings of Bahá’u’lláh.

Some of the basic principles of the Bahai Faith include the oneness of humanity, oneness of religion, independent investigation of truth, harmony between religion and science, mandatory universal education, elimination of prejudice, equality of men and women, and the abolition of extremes of wealth and poverty.
